No Carbs at Night

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find (and remove) 500 calories per day. We have been able to avoid complicated formulas so far but we’ll mention one now. You just need to remember the “500” part. One pound of fat represents roughly 3500 calories consumed, so if you want to lose 1 pound per week, you should avoid (or burn) 500 calories per day (because 500 calories x 7 days a week = 3500, or 1 pound of fat). This is all it takes to lose a pound every week. You can ramp up your efforts to lose even more!
You know you need to find 500 calories per day and throw them out the window. But where do you look? This is where it get’s fun! Maybe the cookie you eat after lunch is 250 calories, so skip the cookie. A serving of rice is typically about 250 calories, so in your evening meal, skip the rice (remember, no carbs at night?). Those represent the 500 calories you skipped for the day. You could also choose eat the same things but BURN 500 calories per day in the gym. Maybe you want to skip the cookie (250 calories) then go to the gym after work and burn another 250 calories walking the treadmill. You have complete control over the process and over your options. You could choose to cut 500 calories from food and burn another 500 calories at the gym, accelerating fat loss even more. How you put this process together is totally up to you and becomes fun when you look at your options.
What to eat when you eat out
Eating out is a big part of most people’s lives. You don’t have to miss social functions or restaurant meals simply because you’re on a diet. Just make healthier choices! Order salad if available, and go for leafy greens (Spinach, Green leaf lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, etc.) Just try to include a bit of protein (chicken is good). If you’re at a seafood restaurant, don’t order the fried seafood platter, have a small bowl of soup with a salad perhaps. Or have the grilled salmon plate with veggies.
